This collection of paintings is composed by a wide variety of painters, and our concern was to represent all of them in an equal basis. The solution for the front and back cover was creating a collage which included a piece of each artwork in it. In the book we transferred this idea in a typographical form, creating a graphic system of columns of the artist's names in different colours. This system was used as an index, chapter list, etc.

The client expressed the need of being easily related with the University, represented by the letters 'U' and 'B' into two spheres.

The first initiative was the observation of their work area visiting their laboratories. We observed their routines, mechanisms and tools, and among many different devices able to generate inspiration for graphic elements, finally we find a school board with all the formulas, which represent their daily research.

The solution was to create a graphic system based in the usual symbology of their formulas, adding the initials IBUB into spheres, based on the typeface Neuzeit, which recalls the logo of Barcelona University.

Metabolic diseases develop from small changes in the common human metabolic process.

The solution was to show these small changes in the title of the symposium, playing with the absence of letters in the title.

From this idea, we created a basic poster, which developed in a set of small colourful posters that were hung throughout the university. These posters, containing some gaps in the text, made a direct reference to the leitmotif of the investigation.

The solution was to show the progress of the centre in the field of computer technologies. To achieve this, we created a new typeface based on pixels, adding the traditional icon for Biological Studies: rats. We created a typographical illustration with the title combining images of rats. The combination of all this elements provided us a basis for the implementation of the graphic system in all their promotional items.

The lectures were conducted by different renowned researchers in the IBUB Centre in Barcelona.
A background from circles showed a metaphor of an irregular, organic mass.

From this, I created a basic typographic illustration with the title, consisting on organic mass, and the different conference speakers appeared highlighted in speech bubbles.
